Search is a feature that uses a person's keywords to find potentially relevant results in a collection.After someone enters “budget,” projects whose name, description, or tags contain related words can appear; a help center can find articles by problem keywords too. Search answers what someone is looking for, usually ranking results by match or another rule. It does not merely narrow everything by a fixed condition.

How search finds candidate content

The query comes from the person: Someone enters a name, topic, or keyword, and the system looks for potentially relevant items in specified fields. The matching scope should match the interface hint, not secretly search title only.

Results need feedback too: Search should show that it is working, a result count or empty state, and a way to change or clear the query. Spelling tolerance and ranking can improve later, but cannot replace basic findability.
